Accountability

Sometimes freelancers and small business owners find the lack of their own accountability to be a problem in keeping their business moving forward.

Amber Riviere, my colleague over at Web Worker Daily wrote a great piece yesterday on how an Accountability Partner can help keep you focused an on task.

An accountability partner is someone who can help you stay on track toward reaching your goals and creating a life and business by design rather than default.

Recording The Done

Top blogger Michael Wade shares why a Daily Accomplishments list might be a good alternative to our traditional to-do lists.

By shifting attention to what you are getting done rather than what you are not accomplishing, you can increase happiness and achievement.

via Execupundit.com: Daily Accomplishments List.

I love this idea and agree that it works. One of my favorite reports in my Toodledo task manager is my recently completed list - what  a morale booster that can be - you know, provided it's got stuff on it...

Have You Communicated Your Organization’s 2010 Goals?

In this last week's SBBUZZ Twitter Chat, we talked a lot about business goals for the upcoming year.  We all agreed that not only is it important to clearly state, understand and review your goals, but to also share those goals with your team.

The excellent Six Disciplines® Blog has more information on why this is such a critical step for success in 2010, and how to go about making sure it gets done.

If leaders don't explain where the business is going and what it's seeking to achieve, how can people be motivated or know what they're meant to contribute? Clear goals are a key ingredient for achieving performance and productivity...

I am grateful that I found a business coach that helped me identify my business goals and the appropriate ways to define my niche in the industry. Working with her was a great experience.

Here are some tips on how you can find the right connection for you:

The business coaching industry, which is getting more exposure these days, is still filled with contradictions. Coaches themselves disagree over why they’re hired, what they do, and how to measure success. Here’s what you should know.

At BatchBlue, we believe that open, on-going communication with your contacts is really the lifeblood of your business. With BatchBook for Sales, the sales pipeline just got a little more personal. Because you should never have to force a sale.

Are you considering a switch to an Internet based phone service for your business? David Liu of Resource Nation offers a guest post on the BusinessPundit blog in which he shares some on-the-spot info you should read before you make any moves.

However, not all business VoIP phone systems are created equal. The best fit for one company might not work well for another business, and some enterprises have specific requirements that necessitate one type of system or another.
