That’s My Bag
Back in April, I and the other writers for Web Worker Daily contributed what I thought was an interesting collection of articles detailing what we as mobile workers carry around in our bags. It proved to be a revealing exercise as it really showed that despite some general similarities in our jobs and responsibilities, the tools that we choose to use often varied greatly.
The take-away: choosing the right tool for the job is critical - but there are often many choices and sometimes it's more about how they fit your style and that of your business than what someone else has determined is "best."
A Place For Your Stuff
Being organized means having a place for your "stuff," and with the tools and services available today there is no reason not to have a system for maintaining and indexing all of the information that you need.
While some services are better suited for different content than others, a good all purpose organizer is Springpad. I have recently adopted it and in my most recent Web Worker Daily post, I explain why it is my organizational tool of choice.
